ADVANCE Program of Supports

As a Collaborative Leadership Group:

• Do you have a shared understanding of the characteristics of authentic, effective collaborative leadership?
• Are there power imbalances within your collaboration that may limit your effectiveness? And, if so, have you identified strategies for addressing these?
• Have you discussed what each organization has to contribute to the OHT, and equally, how each might benefit?
• Having identified your priority populations, have you agreed on clear aims, measures for success, and the roles and responsibilities of each partner?
• Have you discussed what central supports will be required to advance your collaborative agenda, and what strategies, collectively, might be deployed to fund these supports?
• Do you have a process for surfacing issues and concerns, and do all partners feel safe in doing so?

These and many other questions will be the focus of the ADVANCE Program – part of the suite of OHT supports organized and funded by the Ministry of Health. These offerings are available to approved OHTs.

This program will offer a series of webinars, and either additional virtual supports or small in-person sessions, depending on the region, to facilitate the building of trust, a foundation for leading effectively and achieving performance excellence! The ADVANCE offerings will focus on the questions above and many more, and will provide opportunities for each OHT Leadership Team to discuss issues of shared leadership, shared decision-making and shared accountability. Through the delivery of core content and leadership reflection, OHT Leaders will assess opportunities for improvement and develop an associated Action Plan. The ADVANCE Team will work with each OHT to identify and recruit a local Coach(es), who will be trained through webinars and virtual coaching to support the OHT in working through their Action Plan locally.
